A Long and Much Needed Rambly Update: Read at Your Own Risk.

Alright gals, update time. I’m sitting at my desk trying to write blog posts, but I just can’t get anything done, because I really want to chat with you all and update you before I write about anything else. I love writing about productivity tips, blogging, etc, but those types of post sometimes lack a personal connection and the casualness of a more personal post, like this one! Most of my posts are going to be less personal post, but don’t worry, they will still have a personal touch. Anyways, I just feel like it’s been a bit since I’ve chatted with you, and I feel like I need to before I write any of my normal styled posts. That probably made no sense, and neither does most of this post 🙂

Where I Have Been And Blogging Ruts

So, I have been gone for awhile. I fell into a bit of a blogging rut in the past month or two. At the end of February I started to feel the oh-too-familiar wave of “I’m not happy with my blog.”

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so when my blog is not PERFECT in my eyes, I start to fall into a blogging rut. This is a pretty bad habit because there is always something better I can do with my blog. I really need to just go with the flow, post what makes me happy, and just keep going. I still struggle with feeling completely happy with my blog all the time, so let me know in the comments if you have any tips!!

Anyways, the more I didn’t blog, the deeper into the rut I fell, and I had literally no motivation to write posts. I had plenty of motivation to blog, just not write if that makes any sense. For example, for the first month of my blogging rut, I was staying up to date on my Pinterest, lurking on Instagram, and checking my blog stats consistently, I just wasn’t writing any posts. However, It’s kind of obvious that a blog can’t thrive without posts. Then I started to delete all of my old posts, because they weren’t perfect enough. I have done this many times in the past, and while it may be an unhealthy habit, it allows me to have a fresh slate which somewhat inspires me. Now that I have nailed down my niche, I think I will be less likely to sporadically delete all my posts haha. Anyways, the more I didn’t blog, the more unmotivated and overwhelmed I became. I was so overwhelmed with everything I wanted to do and should do for my blog. I thought about switching hosting sites, I read tons of Pinterest articles about blogging, looked into monetization, etc. I also messed around with tonssss of WordPress themes until I finally found one I liked. A couple of weeks ago, I decided I was ready to start again.

Quick note: This rut would have definitely been minimized if I didn’t also have school going on. That’s why my blog is back in business this week: Spring break. School really gets in the way of blogging…

I brainstormed ideas, but still had nooo motivation to write. There were and still are so many different aspects to keeping a blog organized, it’s hard to know where to start. I decided I would “relaunch” my new and improved blog this week, but continued to procrastinate writing. Also, in the midst of all of this, I had not been active on my Instagram for months. Yeah. That did wonders for my follower count haha. In simple terms: when my blog is not thriving, I have absolutely no motivation for my Instagram. I also want to relaunch my Instagram this week, which I am excited for, but also worried that I will have no engagement because of the months of inactivity.

Back to the blog. A few days ago, I wrote one post, and immediately published it because I was so excited, which brings me to the next thing I want to talk about. I am both organized and extremely disorganized. I have no schedule planned out, no prewritten posts, and barely any Instagram pictures to post. I can’t nail down exactly what I want for my blog, and how to organize it efficiently; like I said above, there are so many different things and aspects of my blog I need and want to focus on. However, I don’t want to constrict myself by making a plan. I think if I wait to post until I make a plan, I will procrastinate and lose my motivation, and I also don’t really know how to go about making a super organized plan. I mean, I have ideas, just not a super strict schedule and plan. So, I am going to be posting on my blog pretty sporadically. I kind of like not having a schedule, because then I can post everyday, once a week, or really just whenever I have a good post.

This is the most MASSIVE RAMBLE EVER OMG. I’m gonna shut up now about my blogging rut and move on to other news even though I have so much more to say about it lolz. I also just read over this, and it makes no sense. Sorry. Moving on…

Spring Break!

Yay! It’s Spring break for me. My best friend is out of town for most of break, but I made a massive plan for what I am going to do this break to keep myself busy, which I will share with you. I am going to work tremendously hard on my blog. I want to use the spare time I have to work on my writing , and also my Instagram!! Just like how the more I don’t work on my blog, the more I don’t want to, but the more I do work on it, the more inspired and motivated I feel. I can’t wait to reconnect with you guys, as well as feel productive, happy, and inspired by working on my blog!! I also want to get outside this break, because being in the warm weather makes me feel happy and inspired 🙂

Summer!

Summer is kind of right around the corner, and I could not be more excited. I loveee being at home, because I get the time to chill and work on my blog! I love working hard on my blog, and I really want to focus on it this summer. My best friend Athena has a YouTube channel (which I will link here) and we are going to be making an office space in her garage. We are both super passionate about our platforms, and I literally cannot wait to have an office space to work on them! It’s also going to be so fun creating the space.

I also interviewed for a summer job, which is super exciting! I have babysat, done garden work, etc, before, but I have never had an official job! I want to use the money I make to potentially visit my family in Denmark at the end of the summer!

My perfect summer day would be waking up, eating breakfast, biking to work, working for a few hours, biking to our office, having fun and working on my blog, going swimming, etc. Sounds dreamy, right? I also love this idea of an office because I get to hang with my bestie everyday, and we can help each other grow our platforms!

Ok, final update.

I’m doing pretty well! School is school, and I cannot wait for summer haha. I am loving the warm weather; it seriously brightens my mood and inspires me. I am also (clearly from this ramble) excited to be working on my blog. Thank you for sticking with me through this crazy ramble omg….

One last thing: as far as my blog going forward, I am going to be doing a mix of personal posts, as well as tips and advice. I want it to be a space that makes me happy and inspired! Let me know if you have any requests in the comments.

Since I am going to be posting pretty randomly, follow my blog on the sidebar to stay updated with my posts 🙂

I love you all, have an amazing day!!
